Some love is tragic and needs to stay like that. Forcing it to be anything else causes only greater heartache. So, reserve in your heart a small corner for whatever failed love you may have experienced in your life. Do not visit that place too often. Do not tend to it too much. Let it grow wild until covered by layers and layers of hopefully more happy memories. And then one day – if you are lucky – you will pass it with only a faint memory of a lost past. Maybe you will feel nostalgic, but nothing that stings too much. Just say ‘hi’ to it, like you are greeting a dearly held old friend – and then move on.
