A less bitter today

People wish for riches, for beauty, for intelligence.
I wish for a lesser burdened heart.

A longing lesser than this.
An anguish lighter than this.

I want to suffer this love with grace.
I want to feel a divine embrace.

Instead of demons lurking in the shadows.
Instead of waiting for a bitter tomorrow – I wish myself
a today without this sorrow.
