‘Could I stay here for a while,’ she wrote. ‘Sorry for being selfish,’ the message in the chatbox continued. Although I still was in pain, I comforted her, saying that we had a lot of good days together. A few days later, she got married. I kept being blindsided by this woman. I never expected her to come back. We had an ill-fated relationship that under no circumstances should have been reignited. But I was jealous. Jealous of how she, even if she must have suffered just as much as I did, was gradually able to move on.
