As she walked by, I looked inwards and saw how my ego collapsed into a glorious singularity, how my heart swelled beyond the reach of earth’s gravity. It is the same feeling you’ve had a thousand times before, my prefrontal cortex whispered gleefully. I ignored its trolling and savored the fantasy a few moments longer. Pretending I have never seen someone like her before. Pretending I have never been swept off my feet like this before.
