I did not see
How you noticed me entering the room

I did not see
How a jolt of electrified desire cut through your body, dancing around your cranium, working its way down, and spilling –  in a rainbow of skittles and daisies –  into your outside

I did not see
How your nervous system caught fire, psychedelic butterflies in your stomach went berserk like hippies from the sixties, and you got high like a kite with enamourment

I did not see
How many times you looked my way that evening, hoping for a glance, a smile, a chance
