I thought I hadn't loved you enough

I remember I sat next to you one day
You were drunk, convinced I wouldn’t stay

‘Baby, tell me, where would I go?’
I was astonished you didn’t know

I washed the vomit out of your hair
And put you caringly up in a chair

You were in my dreams long before we met
I thought I told you this, did you forget?

We had our moments, and sometimes I guess it was rough
It wasn’t perfect, but I know I loved you enough
