If you don’t know how the world works, you will have to contend with humiliations that strike both the cold in your heart and the fire in your guts. People will commend naiveté as something precious, something to envy, something worth cherishing. But they like that naiveness in you. They will never entertain those same beliefs even for a second themselves.
So, now you have to shed all that pink fluffiness without becoming a hateful snake that lost to love and now warms its body with cynicism and nihilistic thoughts. Be a grown-up. Find a way to love truthfully, but this time, try not to lose yourself in the process.
