Untethered hearts

Love is like standing on opposite sides of one another, both holding out one arm and sticking out one finger. Between your two fingers, you hold up delicately a plate suspended in mid-air. If she decides to pull away her finger, the plate will fall and break into many pieces. You standing there, holding up your finger in the air long after she has left, will not amend the broken plate. You need to put down your arm and walk away too. This analogy is somewhat crappy. But love can sometimes be that way too.
